A cerimónia da 80ª edição dos Globos de Ouro irá realizar-se a 10 de janeiro de 2023.
A lista dos nomeados para os prémios já foi divulgada por Mayan Lopez e Selenis num ano em que a cerimónia presencial estará de volta após dois anos de interrupção devido às muitas polémicas. Este ano a cerimonia terá como anfitrião o comediante e vencedor de um Emmy, Jerrod Carmichael.
A HFPA, a Associação de Imprensa Estrangeira de Hollywood, volta a premiar os filmes e séries com o melhor (pelo menos na opinião dos votantes) do cinema e da televisão da temporada. Nos filmes "Os Espiritos de Inisherin" lidera a tabela com 8 nomeações seguindo-se "Tudo em todo o lado ao mesmo tempo", com 6 nomeações e "Babylon" que conquistou 5 nomeações. Nas séries "Abbott Elementary" lidera com 5 nomeações, sendo seguida de perto por "The Crown", "Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story", "Only Murders in the Building", "Pam & Tommy" e "The White Lotus", todas com 4 nomeações cada.
Após enfrentar um escândalo sobre subornos e representatividade dentro da instituição e até nos próprios nomeados, este ano os nomeados surgem de uma votação de 96 membros da Associação, assim como de 103 votantes internacionais recrutados de variadas organizações da indústria do cinema da televisão, de festivais de cinema a jornalistas da área sendo que no total, a HFPA agregou a opinião de 62 países diferentes.
